Welcome to the "New Singles"
This year we plan to build a new and improved singles department at Memorial. We have met with Pastor Ken and have run several ideas by him to discuss with the ministerial staff. With their approval, here are the beginnings of our plan:
1) Top priority!!! Open a new Sunday school class
designed for singles of varying ages who are out in thee “working” world. (Never married, divorced, single with children-all are welcome!) We are searching for the right couple to lead this class; and eventually this may break into two or more classes as we grow.
2) Plan social events to bring the singles together for fellowship. This will require an
"Events Committee" to coordinate and plan social gatherings.
3) Find volunteers to be
"Singles Greeters" (male and female) Sunday mornings before each service.
4) Provide a monthly Newsletter (El Chaiyai), prepare announcements for the church bulletin and Sunday projections and add singles events to the church calendar. This will require a "PR Committee" to work closely with the church office staff.
5) Contact single visitors through visitation, phone,
email and cards through the "Outreach Committee."
6) Eventually offer "Small Group" bible
studies in
the home environment. We’ll need group leaders, to
be trained by Bob Maindelle, and homes for this to occur.
